6 perfect places to picnic in Northern Alberta
The sun is out, the weather's great, and the vibes are good. Want to keep those vibes up? One of the best ways to do that is to go on a picnic! Here are 6 great spots to go on a picnic in Northern Alberta (in no particular order).
1) Athabasca
Head to the plateau at Lions’ Park, overlooking the river, in Athabasca. The city is surrounded by a vast boreal wilderness, worthy of an adventure. Enjoy the open space as you soak up the views while you chow down on your perfect picnic.
A perfect #Athabasca weekend includes a stroll downtown, a wilderness retreat only accessible by boat, and a sunset picnic at #LionsPark.https://t.co/k94flzorZh - @outdoorsinsider#TakeItToTheLake

2) Bonnyville
It’s not every day you can paddle your way around history. But you can in Lac La Biche County, home to one of Canada’s most unique provincial parks, Sir Winston Churchill Park, Alberta’s only campground that is on an island. Grab a snack and enjoy an epic picnic in the area.
Take a look at that gourmet forest spread!
