Fly from Vancouver: It’s about a 1 ½-hour flight from Vancouver International Airport to Canadian Rockies International Airport with Pacific Coastal Airlines.
Fly from Kelowna: It’s about a one-hour flight from Kelowna International Airport to Canadian Rockies International Airport with Pacific Coastal Airlines.
Drive from Calgary: It’s about a 4 ½-hour drive south on the Crowsnest Hwy.
Drive from Edmonton: It’s about a seven-hour drive south on the AB-2S and Crowsnest Hwy.
Drive from Lethbridge: It’s about a 3 ½-hour drive west on the Crowsnest Hwy.
DAY ONE
Morning – Fascinating history at Fort Steele Heritage Town
Start the day off in the community of Fort Steele, named for North West Mounted Police superintendent Sam Steele. The historic town rose to prominence in 1864 during the Gold Rush. The site is the perfect place to learn about how Canadians lived more than 100 years ago. Blacksmithing demonstrations, steam-train rides, live street performances, and museum exhibits are just some of the things you can experience at Fort Steele.
Afternoon – Food for the soul
After a busy morning, stop at Soulfood for lunch. The restaurant, a favourite among locals, specializes in fresh and organic food made with love. Soulfood offers health-conscious foods like house-made kombucha, kimchi, and avocado toast using local ingredients. If you don’t feel like eating in, the restaurant also sells frozen organic meals that can be heated up back at your hotel or Airbnb.
Evening – Hiking, vistas and biking
Explore Cranbrook Community Forest by venturing on a short yet rewarding hike through Eager Hills trail. The hike is 1.5km and takes around 20 minutes to complete before reaching the summit, Eager Hills Lookout. Though the hike is short, there are plenty of opportunities to stop and explore the flora along the way. The trail is abundant with wildflowers, trees, and postcard-worthy views of the mountains.
DAY TWO
Morning – First Nations program turns dark past into a bright future
Spend the morning learning about an important part of Canadian history at St. Eugene Golf Resort & Casino. The resort is a former residential school located on traditional Ktunaxa land in a Spanish-colonial building from the 1900s. As part of the Speaking Earth program, the Ktunaxa Nation offers an exclusive First Nations experience at the resort, teaching guests about First Nations language, history, activities, food, and more. The program offers individual activities or multi-day itineraries.

Afternoon – Tee off at St. Eugene’s Golf Course
After spending the morning learning about the history of the resort, enjoy more of the its gorgeous surroundings with a round of 18-hole golf at St. Eugene’s Golf Course. The course was designed by an acclaimed architect and is considered one of the top golf courses in Canada.
Evening – Peak experience for the beer lover's palate
Cap off an eventful day at Fisher Peak Brewery, located within Heidout Restaurant & Brewhouse, for some delicious craft beer and stellar mountain views. Heidout is a fully equipped restaurant with a brewhouse on the upper floor and brewery downstairs. Choose from a wide selection of in-house brewed beers and learn about the brewing process from one of the Brewmasters.
