Make this the year to finally take that ski holiday in western Canada, because if the early-season snow that’s been consistently falling any indication, you’re in for a treat.

You’ve no doubt heard of Whistler Blackcomb in BC’s Coast Mountains, but maybe not so much about Fernie Mountain Resort along the Powder Highway on the eastern end of the province in the Rockies. Getting here is easier than you might think, with all of these resorts having easy access to airports. And once you arrive, there’s no need for a car. You’ll just want to slice into the fluffy powder for days, and put your feet up in front of a fireplace (or hunker down in a hottub). Anyway you end the day, you’ll be sporting a massively satisfied smile, just like the folks who get to ski here all the time.
