Whether you are looking for a road trip from Vancouver, a quick flight via KD air, or boating in from the west coast of Vancouver Island, you've made the right decision by visiting Port Alberni. Car
From Vancouver: Hop on BC Ferries from Horseshoe Bay and travel to Nanaimo. Head north on Highway 19 until the Highway 4 exit, approximately 35 minutes. Enjoy a cruise-y ride past Cameron Lake and Cathedral Grove before climbing Mount Arrowsmith and descending into the Alberni Valley. Total travel time from Vancouver is approximately three hours.
Plane
If you are feeling adventurous, you can boat into Port Alberni via the Alberni Inlet. This is a route that can only be accessed from the west coast of Vancouver Island. Enjoy a ride on the MV Lady Rose or MV Frances Barkely from Ucluelet to Port Alberni or use your personal boat.
