A Golf Weekend in Whitecourt is a Guaranteed Hole-in-One
#ABWAYS2SUMMER #ExploreWhitecourt
With attractions like mini golf, an elaborate trail system, gorgeous patios, and even an outdoor river slide and splash park, you are sure to have a lively weekend in Whitecourt.
Whitecourt, AB - “This could be my hole-in-one,” my partner Garrett Iverson states authoritatively as we stand at the tee box on the fourth hole of Whitecourt Golf and Country Club. The Athabasca River surrounds the par three tee box and I am silently hoping he is right and he makes his hole-in-one.
Despite my best wishes, his ball lands directly in the sand trap to the left of the hole. Not to brag, but my ball landed on the green. Regardless of the fact that neither of us scored a mythical hole-in-one, we are happy to be soaking in every minute of sunshine and good times on our weekend getaway to Whitecourt, Alberta.
The town of close to 10,000 residents, is a true gem when it comes to summer attractions. Located a short two hour drive northwest of Edmonton, it is the perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and reconnect with friends and family, all the while making memories that will last a lifetime.

Day Two: Rotary Park’s River Slide and Splash Park, Brooks Creek Mini Golf
On your second day in Whitecourt, visit Rotary Park. The park features two impressive man made river slides and a large spray park. The river slides and spray park are free to use and there is even an air-filling station to fill up your floaties. It’s easy to spend a whole day here!

“Rotary Park is a popular attraction, especially with Whitecourt being a family community,” states Janaia Utas, Visitor Information Counsellor at Whitecourt Forest Interpretive Centre. “People call us all the time and they are so happy that the river slides and splash park are free to use. It has been a great addition to the community.”
When you’ve had your fill of water activities or you’d like a change of scenery, head over to Brooke’s Creek Mini Golf for a round. You may have a better shot at a hole-in-one on this course; at least Garrett did, and it’s a fun way to have a friendly competition between friends and family.
