#ABWays2Winter
If you live in the west central region of Alberta you're lucky enough to have a multitude of #ABWays2Winter. With heaps of snow, endless forested trails for cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, and even more adventurous sports like ice-climbing, this is a sweet place to warm up to winter.
The communities, all just a short drive from Edmonton include Edson, Drayton Valley, Hinton, Rocky Mountain House and Whitecourt, and they all know how to winter with gusto. But sometimes you just need to get out of the city.
In these smaller communities, local volunteers happily work hard to track set hundreds of kilometres of Nordic skiing trails and snowmobiling clubs are ready to take out newcomers to their favourite spots where the best stashes of snow can be found. And we haven't even mentioned the scenery: snow-encrusted pines, rolling farmland, clear, sunny skies mountains and frozen lakes for ice fishing and some with the coolest bubbles that make for amazing Instagram shots.
So, put on your favourite, cozy layers because this is the year to discover, rediscover and blaze new trails with your family and a few friends.
Don't forget to use the hashtag #ABWays2Winter to tell us all about your winter wonderland adventures.
