Morning – Fuel up at Bread Milk & Honey

Head to Bread Milk & Honey, a local coffee shop with a cool vibe, to fuel up before starting the day’s activities. Check out the breakfast menu for delicious items like the spinach and goat cheese burrito or South African bacon morning toastie, or enjoy a hand-brewed organic coffee.

Mid-morning – Make a splash at Henderson Lake Park

Next up, pick up a rental canoe or kayak from Awesome Adventures Ltd. and head to Henderson Lake Park. The park features a man-made lake perfect for paddling. The boat launch and dock provide easy access to the water for kayaks, canoes, and paddleboats, while the surrounding grassy areas make for a tranquil place to read or people watch. You might also see fishermen in the area, scouting out the many Pike, Perch, and Whitefish.

Afternoon – Relax in the shade at Indian Battle Park

After a busy morning in the sun, visit Indian Battle Park with a picnic in tow and relax in the shade. The park has a gazebo and many covered areas to cool off from the sun while enjoying lunch. There are also tons of amenities in the park to enjoy like a beach volleyball area, hiking trails, and fitness equipment.

Mid-afternoon – Float down Oldman River

One of the must-do activities you have try before leaving the city is a leisurely float or paddle down Oldman River. With your rental kayak, paddleboard, or inner tube from Awesome Adventures Ltd., get in the water and let the river’s current do all the work. Floating down the river, you will pass underneath the famous High Level Bridge, the highest and longest trestle bridge in the world. If you’re lucky, you may also catch a glimpse of shorebirds and beavers in the area.
